What even is physics ?

Visions of physics and what it has done lately for you

This is a poem I wrote introducing the abstract concept of infinity, which comes up quite often in the world of physics :

What even is infinity?

What even is infinity?
Can we call it something
Or is it our everything?
Are we limited by no boundaries?
Infinite amount of questions pop up
But very few answers are revealed.
Infinity means counting one up
When atoms and the universe are introduced.
How can you represent it ceaseless?
Us, dusts from our mother universe,
Is an infinite time and space
Leading us to a long life after death?
The circle of life with no border is finite.
A spiral always gravitates
to an ending point without ever touching it.
That is how infinity is profoundly in our soul perceived.
Some find this abstraction terrifying
Others quite appealing
Scientists think it's a way of living
Others a number, a feeling
Infinity is standing there peacefully
In our minds, in equations
Where we never want it to be
It's not collapsing it’s staying there
Where it was always supposed to be really
Since the moment time was born
Until one day in the milky way
Some physicists find solutions
To all our interrogations

These are words I think of, when the word we want to describe is physics :

community
networks
knowlegde
way of thinking and viewing the world
invention
theories
